The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) are running two workshops aimed at high school students and teachers under its energy education outreach programme, Energy4me.
The SPE Energy4me “Energise Your Classroom” Teacher Workshop on 17 October invites 100 Kuwaiti science teachers (grades 8-12) to learn how to teach energy topics in a hands-on, innovative way during KOGS 2017.
Educators will receive comprehensive, and objective information about the scientific concepts of energy and its importance, while discovering the world of oil and natural gas exploration and production. A variety of free instructional materials will be available for them to take back to the classroom.
The SPE Energy4me High School Student STEM Workshop on 18 October focuses on educating the next generation of aspiring engineers, scientists and managers in the E&P industry. Approximately 300 high school students will see first-hand the career opportunities the industry has to offer. Students will also meet industry professionals and ask questions about possible careers in the E&P industry. In addition, students will get to tour the Ahmed Al-Jaber Oil & Gas Exhibition Center.
